Rules for verification allocation

We aim to provide users with verified answers as soon as possible. Please follow the following allocation rules:

  • Billable Limit per Question: AU/CA verifiers: 2 hours; UK: 1 hour; US: 1.5 hours. Time may be allocated across 24 hours. Do not exceed without approval. Invoices must show actual time spent per question. The limit is a ceiling, not a target. We expect varying time allocations reflecting genuine complexity, not consistent maximum billing.

  • 24-hour deadline. Verifications must be completed within 24 hours of allocating yourself the question, unless otherwise approved by LawY team in writing.

  • One question at a time. Only allocate yourself one question at a time. Questions will be recalled from your queue without further notice if your queue has multiple questions.

  • Only work on your assigned question. LawY will not pay for work done before you officially allocate yourself the question on the LawY dashboard or after your time is up.

Do not allocate yourself questions outside area of expertise.

If a question is submitted in the wrong matter type (e.g., property law question submitted in family law), notify LawY. Do not allocate and attempt verification of a question if it's outside the scope of your retainer.

Do not allocate yourself questions outside your jurisdiction.

Only verify questions in states/territories covered by your retainer. For example, if you're a Queensland estate lawyer, don't verify NSW estate law questions unless your retainer allows it.
